Apologies to customers, due to heavy snow the signaller is currently unable to operate the points in Dorchester. Points are the moving pieces of metal that enable trains to change tracks.

If you are travelling to or from Weymouth, Upwey, Dorcester West, Maiden Newton, Chetnole, Yetminster or Thornford you are advised NOT TO TRAVEL as we are unable to get you to your destination by rail and are struggling to resource replacement road transport due to heavy snow closing roads. Tickets dated today Thu 21/11/2024 will be valid for travel tomorrow, Fri 22/11/2024. Alternatively you can claim a full refund.

South Western Railway are accepting GWR tickets between Southampton Central and Weymouth, however their services are also being disrupted by the severe weather.

South Western Railway are conveying passengers between Southampton Central and Weymouth via Bournemouth and Dorchester South in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. GWR customers to/from Weymouth, Upwey and Dorchester are advised to use SWR services between these stations at Southampton Central and GWR services between Southampton Central and Westbury to complete their journeys.

Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. There are limited occasional SWR services running between Yeovil and Westbury in both directions which GWR may use.
