Due to a points failure at Swansea fewer trains are able to run. Disruption is expected until 12:00 02/02.
Impact:
Train services between Swansea and Cardiff Central may be cancelled or delayed.
Customer Advice:
A Points failure at Swansea Station is delaying GWR services at Swansea. Currently only two platforms out of four are currently available for use, which is leading to lots of delays for both GWR and Transport for Wales.
GWR trains towards London Paddington will depart late, whilst some services will start at Neath. Customers are advised to use TfW services towards Neath where they can change for GWR services. Customers travelling all the way to London Paddington should be aware that due to the late running, many trains are likely to terminate at Reading. However plenty of connections are available at Reading towards London Paddington.
Network Rail are on site but we do not yet know when the problem is likely to be fixed.
Transport For Wales are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. Between Swansea and Cardiff Central.
