There are plenty of events happening all over the GWR network to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Get there by train and make the most of this special long weekend.

London
The Tower of London
Come and celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen at the Tower of London, where a spectacular, colourful, vibrant field of flowers will fill and transform the tower’s moat.Visitors can wander along a weaving path into the centre of the flowers. A specially commissioned sound installation and sculptural elements will draw you in and make you feel at home among the bees and butterflies. Take a moment to slow down and experience the nature that surrounds you.
Queen’s Jubilee Pageant
On Sunday there will be artistic performers, dancers, musicians, military personnel, key workers and volunteers, uniting to tell the story of The Queen’s 70-year reign in an awe-inspiring festival of creativity.The Platinum Jubilee Pageant will combine pomp and ceremony, street arts, theatre, music, circus and costumes as well as cutting-edge visual technology, drawing on talent from every part of the UK and across the Commonwealth.
V&A Emblem Design Shortlist Exhibition
The Victoria and Albert Museum is displaying the award-winning design of the V&A Platinum Jubilee Emblem Competition, along with the other 9 shortlisted emblem design entries, at the V&A in London in June 2022.2 June 2022: Trooping of the Colour
Although the main event on Horse Guards Parade is sold out, you can still enjoy the spectacle along the route, wave to the Queen at Buckingham Palace or see the gun salute in Green Park.2 June 2022: Platinum Jubilee Beacons
Continuing a long tradition, Platinum Jubilee Beacons will be lit at Buckingham Palace and across the nation on 2 June. More than 1,500 beacons will be illuminated in this moving ceremony, reaching UK overseas territories and Commonwealth country capitals.The Royal Collection
A trio of royal residences – Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Edinburgh’s Palace of Holyroodhouse – will exhibit special displays inspired by the Queen’s accession to the throne, coronation and jubilees. Plymouth
1 Big Summer will bring 3 days of entertainment to Plymouth. Each day has been curated to appeal to a plethora of musical tastes, genres and audiences, ensuring there really is something for everyone. The event takes place from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 June 2022 and will see one of the biggest line ups ever assembled descend onto Plymouth Hoe for 3 jam-packed days!Torbay
Torquay, Paignton and Brixham can expect a jam-packed programme of events over the Platinum Jubilee weekend. There will be a real sense of camaraderie as everyone gets together to celebrate this once in a lifetime event.
Travel by train to Devon and join the Jubilee celebrations across Torbay. Here’s a taster of what to expect, but there are plenty of other events too. Head to the English Riviera website to see all the events on the bank holiday weekend.
Thursday 2 June: Beacons light up the bay
On the English Riviera, the lighting of the Queen’s Jubilee Beacon at Corbyn Head at 21:45 will signify the start of the celebrations in the bay. The nearest station is Torquay.
Friday 3 June: Music concert in Torquay
On Friday, Music on The Meadows will be taking over Torre Abbey Meadows, with a full day of family entertainment. The Bootleg Beatles are headlining in the evening.
Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 June: English Riviera Airshow
The annual English Riviera Airshow will take flight from 4 to 5 June 2022 with breathtaking displays over the bay. A selection of cutting-edge and beautiful vintage aircraft will take to the skies.
Also on Sunday, the Jubilee Flotilla will take to the water, with celebrated and private vessels representing the area’s coastal community. Visitors are invited to watch from the shores as the water teems with maritime action.
Sidmouth (near Exeter)
Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival 2022
The Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival takes please from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022. You can expect to experience the best in jazz, blues, RnB, funk, soul, Latin and contemporary music with an eclectic programme of headline ticketed concerts with acclaimed artistes.
A wide range of free live music performances at locations within the town will feature established and emerging music talent from the local and regional area.

Exeter
Take a train to Exeter and stop by Exeter High Street between 11:00 and 15:00 on Thursday 2 June to celebrate the Queens’s Platinum Jubilee.
Tables and benches will be set up along the High Street so you can come along and join in the festivities. You can bring your own picnic or click and collect from the nearby restaurants. Please note that the consumption of alcohol on the high street is not permitted.
There will also be a military and community village on the Cathedral Green for lots of family fun.
Cornwall
Looe
Take a train to Cornwall for the weekend and join one of the special events celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee.
Platinum celebrations will take place in Looe from 2 to 5 June 2022. The town will be going back in time to the 50s, with 50s cars, big screen 50s films and entertainment. Plenty of cream teas and 50s food will be served. Expect fun for all the family and don’t forget to dress up. There will be prizes for the best 50s outfits.
