When is the Two Moors Festival

The Two Moors Festival is, as the name suggests, in two locations. From 3 to 6 October it centres on Exmoor and from 10 to 13 October the focus is Dartmoor.

What to expect from the Two Moors Festival

Across the Festival period, concerts are held in the towns and villages in and around Dartmoor and Exmoor, creating the largest geographic area of any festival in the UK.

Concerts that are accessible by train are:

Stile Antico (7:30 pm Thu, 10 Oct at All Saints Church, Okehampton)

The acclaimed vocal ensemble opens the Dartmoor weekend with a beautiful and atmospheric concert charting a course from twilight to sunrise.

George Xiaoyuan Fu (6pm or 8pm, Sat 12 Oct, Exeter Castle)

Pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu is the winner of the 2024 BBC Music Magazine Newcomer Award. For the Festival he will be performing a virtuosic and evocative night-time programme of Chopin and Ravel that should not be missed.

Henning Kraggerud and Clare Hammond with Alistair McGowan as narrator (3pm, Sun 13 Oct, Exeter Castle)

Equinox is a collaboration between violinist and composer Henning Kraggerud and the world-famous author of Sophie's World, Jostein Gaarder. The piece takes the listener on a kaleidoscopic tour across world and time.
