What to expect from the South West Coast Path Trailblazer Walk
The Trailblazer Walk will start in Minehead on 12 May and South Haven Point on 27 May, with a finish point at Royal William Yard, Plymouth on 15 June where the journey will be celebrated as well as the charity’s golden milestone.
All walks are free with a variety of options to suit all abilities with the offer of full-day walks or a choice of morning and afternoon walks. You could even extend your walk experience and sign-up for a few days to make it a pilgrimage.
The South West Coast Path has an ancient history connecting coastal communities in the South West and is steeped in local myth and legends with tales of shipwrecks, pirates and smugglers, capturing the hearts and minds of all who journey along it. Walk with the South West Coast Path Association team, members and volunteers and get an insight into each section of this glorious trail as you walk alongside others passionate about the Coast Path.
With 55 days of walking to choose from there is a walk for everyone.
Most of the South West Coast Path is linked to the great local train and bus network, so however you are travelling, you’ll find it easy to join in via public transport.

When is the Trailblazer Walk?
The Trailblazer Walk will take place from 12 May to 15 June 2023, from a range of locations across the South West Coast Path.
How to take part in the Trailblazer Walk
The South West Coast Path is one of the world’s best hiking trails and the longest National Trail in England. The south west is fortunate to have Great Western Railway providing sustainable public transport to some of the main points on the South West Coast Path, making for an enjoyable rail and trail adventure.
The South West Coast Path Association is committed to sustainable transport and encourages walk participants, where possible, to use public transport. Details of public transport options to key stages of the walk are available here:
