Ashley Down is a new station between Filton Abbey Wood and Stapleton Road. It is located between Muller Road, to the east, and Ashley Down Road, to the west.
The station provides another choice of sustainable travel into the city centre as well as to destinations across the region with connections to the wider rail network.
The station opened on Saturday 28 September 2024.
Facilities at Ashley Down station
The station has two accessible platforms served by existing train services between Bristol Temple Meads and Filton Abbey Wood. It is equipped with:
- A ticket machine
- Smart ticket readers
- Live train departure screens
- A help point
- Cycle parking for 20 bicycles
- Free customer Wi-Fi
Access to the station is via an entrance by the Concorde Way cycle path off Station Road with a footbridge between platforms equipped with lifts.
The station provides train services to and from Bristol Temple Meads taking approximately 10 minutes.
Making the work possible
The station was funded by the West of England Combined Authority with some additional funds from Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council and GWR.
The project forms part of the wider MetroWest programme of rail enhancements.
